Being a solo traveler, I am always worried about where to go without feeling out of place. Well, I’m glad I found Sociedade Parede for dinner last night. Brothers Carlos and Nuno are exceptionally warm and friendly hosts. When I was brought a delicious plate of garlicky buttery shrimp, Nuno said “At home we eat this with our hands. This is your home, Gerald, so it’s ok to eat with your hands.” That was more than enough to make me feel welcomed.. On top of that, the place has a relaxed vibe, great food, great playlist of eclectic mix of music genres. The other problem being a solo traveler is not having others to share plates with. Solution to that problem is a happy one: I will return later this week!
